Hi, I'm Monica.

I'm a CPA and I run Precision Ledger, a fractional CFO, accounting, and tax practice built for small business owners who are ready to take their finances seriously. I'm based in Truckee, CA and love supporting small local businesses, but also work with clients remotely across the country.

My background spans the full range of business complexity. I started my career in public accounting at PwC working with financial services firms, LLCs, and some of the largest multinational corporations in the world on complex international planning. From there I moved into financial planning and analysis at Apple, where I analyzed performance across all of their retail stores worldwide.

After Apple, I joined Instacart where I owned and managed the close process for advertising revenue. And prior to starting my own business I spent several years in customer success at accounting software companies, which gave me a front-row seat to how small and mid-sized businesses actually use their financial systems - and where they most often fall short.

Why I work with small businesses

What I found across all of those roles is that the financial discipline that makes large companies run well is almost never available to small business owners. They are making decisions without clean data, forecasting on gut instinct, and scrambling at tax time with a shoebox of receipts and a CPA they see once a year. I left the corporate world to change that.

Having worked with businesses from two-person shops to Fortune 500 multinationals, I know what good financial infrastructure looks like at every scale. That means clean books, accurate reporting, real-time cash flow visibility, and a tax strategy that works year-round, not just in April. At Precision Ledger, I bring that same standard to businesses that have never had access to it before.

How I work

I work primarily through QuickBooks Online and build systems that give you real-time visibility into your business. My clients are not just handed a P&L - they understand it. That is the point of fractional CFO work: turning numbers into decisions.

I work with small business owners across industries who are ready to stop guessing and start making decisions backed by real financial data.

Life outside the ledger

I'm a National Ski Patroller at Alpine Meadows, a search-and-rescue volunteer with Tahoe Nordic Search and Rescue, a trail runner and mountain biker. I believe the discipline you build in the mountains translates directly into good financial stewardship.

When I'm not in the numbers, I'm probably on a ridge somewhere with my border collie Ellie. That's the Tahoe life I built this practice to support and the one I want to help my clients build for themselves.
